Jan 2-Feb 27 | Chisholm Trail Heritage Center
 

Dr. Nathan Brown served as Oklahoma Poet Laureate and is long-time creative writing instructor for sixth grade students at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center. Since 2010, Brown has been inspiring sixth-grade students from local schools - showing them how to write short stories and poems as they draw inspiration from the art and artifacts throughout the Heritage Center.

 
 

HOYRA Youth Rodeo

HOYRA is open to all young people 18 years of age and under.  With four (4) different age groups, HOYRA offers Barrels, Poles, Goat Tying, Breakaway Roping, Ribbon Roping, Tie-Down Calf Roping, Steer Breakaway, Steer Stopping and Team Roping.

 

 

Oklahoma Horse Fair

Feb 9-10 | Stephens County Fair & Expo Center

 

Since 2003, this two day celebration of horses featuring ponies, miniature horses, clinics, demonstrations, western ranch horses, and a western trade show. Featuring the Chisholm Trail rodeo, Rock Horse Competition, Select Horse, Mule and Pony sale and more. 

 

 

Stephens County Coin Show

Find out what your treasured coins are worth or hunt down the elusive coin you’ve been searching for. This coin show features antique coins and more from all over the United States.

 

 

79th Annual Stephens County Jr. Livestock Show

Feb 19-23 | Stephens County Fair & Expo Center

 

During the 79th annual event, youth from local 4H and FFA chapters may participate.

 

 

Duncan Little Theatre presents "The Wizard of Oz"

Feb 23-24/March 1-3 | Simmons Center

 

When Dorothy and her dog Toto are swept away by a Kansas cyclone and transported to the Land of Oz, she is desperate to find a way home again. The only one powerful enough to help her is the mysterious ruler of Oz known as the Wizard. She is forced to take a remarkable journey filled with many adventures. However, no one knows the Wizard has a secret to protect! To do so he sends Dorothy to prove herself worthy of his assistance; to eliminate Oz's most dreaded baddie -- the Wicked Witch of the West, or die trying. Youth Art Month

Celebrating National Youth Art Month during March, the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center serves as regional site host for high school art from schools in Stephens County and Jefferson County.

 

 

Ultimate Calf Roping
March 3 | Stephens County Fair & Expo Center
 

Watch as ropers show off their skills at Ultimate Calf Roping. The best of the best will be on hand to lasso and tie as quickly as possible, competing against each other’s times.

 
 

SW Pride Chorus presents Barbershoppers

March 9 | Simmons Center

 

SW Pride Chorus is proud to present their 54th Annual Chorus Show, "Barbershop at the Old Watering Hole" on March 9 at the Simmons Center Theatre. Tickets may be purchased at the Simmons Center office or Ace Hardware. 

 

 

Stampede the Trail 5k and Half Marathon

March 10 | Simmons Center

 

The 4th Annual “Stampede the Trail” 5k and 1/2 Marathon, benefitting DRH Health Foundation and the Simmons Center. More information and registration available at the Simmons Center.

 

 

Stephens County Rabbit Show

March 16-17 | Stephens County Fair & Expo Center

 

Stephens County Rabbit Breeders Show will take place in the South Barn.  This event takes place Friday evening and Saturday.

 

 

Duncan Automotive Swap Meet

March 22-24 | Stephens County Fair & Expo Center

 

The Duncan Swap Meet is a strong muscle car and antique car tradition in the area with many car clubs and enthusiasts.

 

 

Hog Bonanza

March 28 | Stephens County Fair & Expo Center

 

Swine judging contest open to all states who wish to compete. There will be no limit to the number of teams allowed. 

 

 

Moose Lodge Easter Egg Hunt

March 31 | Moose Lodge

 

Join the Moose Lodge for their annual Easter egg hunt on March 31. Hunt will be divided into age divisions.
